How MACWORX INC collects, uses and protects personal information. Last updated October 28, 2026.
MACWORX INC (“MACWORX”, “we”, “us”) is a British Columbia company located at 12835 Lilley Drive, Maple Ridge, BC V2W 1C6, Canada. This policy explains what personal information we collect through mac-worx.com, our Facebook and LinkedIn pages, and when you contact us; how we use it; who we share it with; and the choices you have.
We handle personal information in line with applicable Canadian privacy law, including British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). “Personal information” means information about an identifiable individual, such as a name, email address or phone number.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
When you use the contact form on our website, email or phone us, or submit a lead form on Facebook, we collect what you provide: your name, email address, phone number, company name, the product or service you are interested in, and your message.
Information collected automatically
When you visit our website, we and our service providers collect technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, the date and time, your approximate location (city or region), and how you arrived at our site (for example, from a link on Facebook or LinkedIn). We also record actions such as clicking a phone number or email link, scrolling, downloading a brochure, and sending the contact form. This is collected using cookies and similar technologies (see section 3).
Information from social media platforms
If you contact us or respond to our ads through Facebook (Meta) or LinkedIn, we receive the information you share with us there, such as your answers on a lead form, and engagement information the platform provides to us. These platforms collect their own information under their own privacy policies.
2. How we use personal information
- to respond to your enquiries, prepare quotes, and supply and service equipment;
- to manage our relationships with customers and suppliers, including support, orders and invoicing;
- to understand how our website is used and to improve it;
- to measure and improve our marketing, including whether visitors from our posts or ads contact us;
- to send you information about our products and services, only where you have agreed or the law allows (see section 8); and
- to meet legal, accounting and security obligations.
We do not sell personal information.
3. Cookies, analytics and your choices
Our website uses:
- Google Analytics 4, a measurement service provided by Google, to understand traffic and actions on our site (such as page views, clicks on our phone number and email links, and contact form submissions). It uses cookies and identifiers. Our site tells Google not to use this data for advertising purposes.
- A cookie-choice setting stored in your browser to remember whether you selected Accept or Decline.
How consent works. When you first visit, a banner asks about analytics cookies. If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom, Switzerland or Quebec, analytics cookies stay off until you select Accept. Elsewhere, analytics are on unless you select Decline. To change your choice later, clear this site’s data in your browser (the banner will return), block cookies in your browser settings, or install Google’s opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
We keep Google Analytics user-level data for up to 14 months. We exclude visits from our own team from our analytics.
4. Who we share information with
We use trusted providers to run our website and business. They handle information only to provide their services to us:
- Cloudflare, for website hosting, delivery, domain name services and security. It processes visitors’ IP addresses and request data.
- Formspree, which receives contact form submissions, emails them to us, and keeps an archive of submissions.
- Google, for Google Analytics and for Google Fonts, which loads our typefaces (your IP address is sent to Google when it does).
- Microsoft 365, for email and our internal systems.
- Meta (Facebook) and LinkedIn, which host our social media pages and, for Facebook, lead forms.
- A customer relationship management (CRM) service, to keep track of enquiries and customers.
Where needed to answer your request, such as confirming specifications or pricing, we may share your enquiry with the manufacturer of the product concerned. We may also disclose information where the law requires it, to protect our rights, or in connection with the sale or restructuring of our business.
5. Where information is stored
Our service providers operate in Canada, the United States and other countries. Your information may therefore be stored and processed outside Canada, where it may be accessible to courts and authorities under the laws of those countries.
6. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes in this policy or as the law requires. Enquiries and customer records are kept while we have a business relationship and for a reasonable period afterward, then deleted or anonymized.
7. Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections, access controls and reputable service providers. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Marketing emails (CASL)
We follow Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation. We send commercial email only with your consent, either express or implied where the law allows (for example, where you have made an enquiry to us or we have an existing business relationship). Every message identifies MACWORX and includes a way to unsubscribe.
9. Your choices and rights
You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and withdraw your consent to our use of it (for example, to unsubscribe or to ask us to stop contacting you), subject to legal or contractual restrictions. To do so, contact us using the details in section 12. We will respond within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia at oipc.bc.ca.
10. Children
Our website is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
11. Links to other sites; changes to this policy
Our website links to Facebook, LinkedIn and manufacturer websites. Their privacy practices are their own, and we encourage you to read their policies. We may update this policy from time to time; the date at the top shows when it was last changed.
