A range of top entry mixers and agitators from medium to heavy duty open tank mixers. Mixtec ranges of agitators called 1000 for medium duty to 4000 series for the heavy duty applications. These agitators consist of motor, gearbox and base-plate mounting. Mounting structures need to be rigid and robustly designed to prevent any flexing and twisting caused by the mixer, weak structures can lead to premature gearbox failure.
The 1000 series is suitable for tanks that are too large for direct drives (Series 250) mixers, with a variety of mounting arrangements including standard flat base, raised base plate ( used for water treatment), and angle riser (10 degrees). These agitators can be mounted in a central tank arrangement with baffles or and off- centre without baffles. Mixtec designs on a range of tank vessel floors including conical, dished or flat bottoms.
Heavy duty 4000 agitators are built to handle the larger tanks, mainly in the mining industry. Tanks are often 80 feet in diameter and 80 feet high. Agitators with shafts over 70 feet long including 2 in tank couplings, with the achieved run out if only 1/8", well below the industry accepted average of 1/4" per 10 ft of shaft length.
Some of the larger installations include HA720 hydrofoils, at almost 26 feet in diameter each blade on the impeller weighs over 2200lb. With the larger HA736 impeller blades can exceed 5,500lb each with gear drive incorporating 450HP motors power these agitators can reach 45+ tons.
Mixtec prides itself on excelling in providing large scale heavy duty mixers. The most common 400 Series agitators are supplied into the mining industry, mostly CIL & CIP applications but also neutralization tanks, cyanide destruction, surge & buffer tanks. Other applications are very large wastewater treatment plants for anoxic and anaerobic zones and large acid mine water neutralization plants.

Mixtec's 2000 Series mixers and agitators are designed to suit closed and sealed vessels, different processes require different type of sealing arrangement, With a variety of seal arrangements including lip seals, packed glands, moat seal and mechanical seals, the base will be custom designed a pedestal incorporating the seal option.
Mixtec utilizes the 2000 series when working with processes such as autoclaves, sugar pan mixers, heat transferred applications, mass transfer appications, bitumen make-up and many more.
